• Ensure gas bottles are full.
• Fill freshwater tanks.
• Empty grey and black water tanks.
• Pack wheel chocks – as the site may not be level.
• Groceries – bring enough provisions for a couple of days, then buy local.
• Include ‘inclement’ weather clothes in your wardrobe – just in case.
• Keep checking the rally website for updates.
• Plan to use one of the nearby staging areas to avoid a lengthy drive on entry day. The staging areas provide an opportunity to meet other CMCA members prior to the rally.
• Make use of the RV Friendly Towns along your route.
• Arrive at the site as early as convenient but not before entry time.
• Ensure that you have noted the route to be taken to enter the site. This is important as this route will have been approved by the local authorities.
• Be prepared to spend some time in a queue on the main entry day. At times there could be a significant number of vehicles lined up awaiting entry.
• Have your CMCA membership card ready to hand to the Meet & Greet Team at the entry gate.
• At the entry gate you will be required to have your CMCA membership card handy.
• Upon entry follow the instructions given by the Siting Team.
• At the gate you will be given a ‘windscreen card’. This card contains information provided by you when you registered for the rally and assists the Siting Team to site you in the appropriate area. This card is to be displayed on your windscreen where it is visible from the outside.
• Once on your site, introduce yourself to your neighbours. They will quite likely also be first timers.
• Locate your nearest tap. No permanent connections to water are allowed as this will be a shared facility.
• Your site number will be recorded on your windscreen card. Write it down elsewhere as you will need to quote it during the rally.
• Familiarise yourself with the location of the facilities and various venues. The centrefold of your Rally Programme will show these.
• Check the location of your nearest emergency assembly point, this will also be shown in your programme.
• All volunteers will be wearing Hi-Vis and/or coloured volunteer shirts. Should you have any questions regarding the rally, please ask them for assistance.
• Secondary/Towing vehicles can only be parked with your RV providing it fits within the confines of the site and you do not intend using this vehicle during the rally. No secondary vehicles are to be parked in front of motorhomes. Vehicles may be parked next to the motorhome and positioned with the nose of the car underneath your own awning. Towing (primary) vehicles for 5th wheelers and caravans may be parked in front of the unit with the hitch point directly behind the vehicle. There will be a designated car park available for those wishing to use their secondary vehicle to go offsite for shopping etc. Vehicle movement around the site is to be kept to an absolute minimum, please utilise Smiley Buses within site to access the entertainment, trade, food court and other areas onsite.
• Certain rally sites do not permit vehicle movement around the grounds due to limiting conditions, in which case you will need to park in the designated car park if you intend on using your car throughout the rally period. The A-Z in the rally programme will specify requirements for each rally.
• There is no guarantee that you will be sited with friends. Vehicles sizes and particular member requirements make this difficult. If you wish to be sited near friends, arrange to enter the rally site at the same time as they do.
• Wear your membership cards and rally identification at all times during the rally.
• Attend the First Timers Meeting. This is your opportunity to get information on how to get the most from your rally experience.
• Thoroughly read your Rally Programme and mark the seminars and activities you would like to take part in, that way you will not miss out something of interest to you.
• Be sure to attend Happy Hours. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends.
• Use the onsite communications to keep up to date with what is happening and to note any changes to the Rally Programme.
• Avoid listening to ‘rumours’, more often than not – they are incorrect.
• Travelling with a dog? Make yourself aware of the rules related to ‘Dogs at Rallies’.
• Please be aware that CMCA Rally Sites are SMOKE-FREE environments. There may be designated smoking areas.
• Remember that all Rally Volunteers are just that – volunteers.
• Should you be interested in joining the volunteer team at a future rally, observe what they do and complete a volunteer registration form available from the future rally stand in the trade area.
